Dr Lewis is a graduate from the University of Sydney. He trained at Sydney Hospital and Concord Hospital before achieving his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1969. He subsequently completed his plastic surgery training in London and the University of New York in the United States. He has been in practice in Sydney since 1975. He has held visiting privileges at Concord and Ryde Hospital and also has worked at The Hills Private Hospital at Baulkham Hills, St David’s Hospital at Eastwood, Poplars Hospital at Epping and the Sydney Adventist Hospital at Wahroonga.
At present he confines his practice to the Castle Hill Hospital and at the Sydney Adventist Hospital at Wahroonga. Dr Lewis has been actively involved in plastic surgical affairs for many years having been the Chairman of the NSW Chapter of Plastic Surgeons, a Councillor of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the President of that organisation in 2001 and 2002. He has been involved in overseas charity trips for 20 years with Interplast Australia and has made 12 trips to Asia and the Pacific nations.
Dr Lewis has a wide interest in plastic surgery and a special interest in skin cancer surgery and cosmetic surgery, particularly of the face, eyelids, nose and ears and also in breast and abdominal surgery. He also performs moderate volume liposuction.
Dr Lewis’s rooms are in the consulting rooms of the Castle Hill Day Surgery. He performs minor procedures under local anaesthesia in his consulting rooms. He is supported by his practice manager/nurse Michele Shaw, who has worked with him for 20 years and also by his secretary/receptionist Nicole Totten.
